Pennsylvania Median Income for the 2023 Bankruptcy Means Test

Last updated:
July 24, 2023

The Pennsylvania median income increased again for most families as of May 15, 2023. Increases in the median income allow more debtors to qualify for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. The increase should also help some debtors avoid the bankruptcy means test entirely.

For Chapter 13 debtors, the median income determines whether the debtor may enter a thirty-six or sixty month Chapter 13 plan and how much they must pay in their Chapter 13 plan.

The latest Pennsylvania median income numbers are as follows:

*For each additional family member over six, add $9900.
